The Lake Washington School District Elementary School Counseling Program is an integral part of the total school environment. The counselor supports student’s academic, personal/social and career development through direct instruction and/or consultation with other staff members. Guidance lessons include instruction in the following areas:

• Learning strategies for academic success
• Appreciating diversity
